The Hanson Conservatory

Outdoor wedding

Guests are outside while the bride and groom marry in the Hanson Conservatory

On a beautiful summer’s day there is nothing more magical than an outside wedding and a marriage ceremony in the Hanson Conservatory is the nearest you are allowed to get to an ‘outdoor’ wedding in this country.

With three walls of glass thrown open, the bride and groom marry in the Hanson Conservatory, with the registrar presiding over the civil ceremony, while guests are seated outside on the terrace.

Weather plays an important part on this day, so depending on numbers, the Sir Richard Hutton dining room is usually on standby should rain stop play. A decision is usually taken a few days before.

The Hanson Conservatory normally operates as the ideal bar area. This is removed for a civil ceremony but quickly restored after the service.

The Hanson conservatory is ideal for ceremonies from 2 to 300 but very much dependent on the weather…
